after a ten year absence. Playing in the best modern mainstream style, Scott is
welcome wherever he plays, but has a long time association with British jazz
fans. He is accompanied by his great
regular British rhythm section -John Pearce piano; Dave Green bass and Steve

Heard
at Harborough Jazz last year with Clark Tracey, we welcome back NYJO director
and trumpeter Mark Armstrong who brings his own group to Harborough featuring the
great Tony Kofi on sax, along with former visitors Dan Casimir on bass and Seb de Krom on drums.
As well as spending several years with Clark Tracey, Mark also played in the
big bands of Stan Tracey and Michael Garrick, becoming artistic director of
NYJO in 2011. Expect some fine bebop and modern jazz.

MICK FOSTER 4
Baritone
sax player Mick Foster makes his first appearance at Harborough Jazz, bringing with him returnees
Dominic Ashworth on guitar; Tom Farmer on bass and Tristan Mailliot on drums. Mick
has played with the big bands of John Dankworth, Stan Sultzman and Michael
Garrick, and with Ginger Baker’s Air Force. Now he has his own groups and today
we have another great session in store from this strong quartet.

MULLOV-ABBADO SEXTET
Having been originally
booked in pre-Covid days, bass player Misha Mullov Abado finally brings his
exciting young sextet to Harborough featuring James Davidson on trumpet;
Matthew Herd on alto; Sam Rapley on tenor; Liam Dunachie on piano and Scott
Chapman on drums. The group’s latest recording ‘Dream Circus’ has been
getting rave reviews not only in the UK but also in France, Germany, Belgium,
Norway and further afield. As the quotes from the Guardian and the BBC suggest,
we will be in for a real treat from this group. ‘Both his composing talents and his propulsive bass-playing are
currently such hot UK jazz news’ The Guardian. ‘Soul-enhancing jazz’ BBC Radio 3.

IRIS QUARTET
Tenor saxophone player Trish Clowes pays her first visit to
Harborough with Ross Stanley on piano and Hammond organ, Chris Montague on bass
and James Maddren on drums. This group have been getting rave reviews over the
last year.
